Are you a high-school student, interested in medical science and in a potential career in the ever-expanding world of modern medicine? ELIO Academy offers a two-week comprehensive online program for academically motivated middle and high school students during the summer. The instructors are successful Scientists, Medical Doctors, and pharmacologists with MD or Ph.D. in the field.

Spend your summer at Elio Academy of Biomedical sciences for early exposure to cutting-edge advanced topics in medical science. The advent of technology and improved computational capabilities has revolutionized the field of biomedical sciences. Most students do not come across these topics until later in their college curriculum. The goal at Elio is to provide unique exposure to some cutting-edge topics in an understandable way and in a no-pressure environment.
 
Early exposure can set you on your path of discovery and learning, to keep you ahead of your peers.

Course offerings include: Cancer Biology, Immunology & Immunotherapy, Genomics Data Science, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience, and Virology.

There are no prerequisite courses for the program, as the experienced instructors cover the basics needed for comprehending the concepts and engaging in discussions. More information is available at the student testimonials page.

The online program enables students from across the world to be a part of this exciting learning opportunity, from instructors and from each other.  Students learn to build hypotheses, collaborate, navigate scientific literature, and make and present scientific presentations, focussed upon the course content and science breakthroughs.

We have a large online presence and a supportive community of student alumni, who have gone on to their own successful paths.


Who is eligible to attend?

Age: 14-18 years. We recommend the courses for high school students as the topics are very relevant extensions to biology and AP biology that they learn as part of their school curriculum. However, we do accept some exceptional middle school students who are motivated and driven. Tell us your story and your interest in your statement of purpose!
 
Elio Academy offers courses that are designed to provide students with in-depth knowledge in biomedical-related subjects. We conduct guided group discussions where we teach you through discussions on literature and publications in groups. We teach how to identify the core question and pursue the solution in a systematic and scientific way. Our one-on-one meetings with Instructors allow students to explore potential college majors and elective subjects with our instructors for their potential career options. Instructors are happy to chat about academic future plans. Students can start building college portfolios early by learning and developing a deeper understanding of complex advanced subjects.

Our course offering provides an opportunity to attend the program from anywhere in the world with online courses.  Our previous courses were attended by students from almost all states in the US and across three continents.
